This was a quick passion project. I had just arrived home from Vietnam, sorted some necessities, and found this strong desire to film something. Anything!
It was a quick brainstorming session with a cosplay friend who suggested a Star Wars themed video due to the latest movie being released (as well as Baby Yoda being discovered).
Although I’m someone who appreciates Star Wars, I can’t say I’m a huge fan. This initially made it difficult for me to know what to produce. But there’s one thing I do know: the best scenes are the fight scenes!
So we called in another cosplayer. Chronologically, these two characters would never meet, but the three of us were out to simply create. Even though the first location never responded to my emails, plan B worked out better than expected.
Mara Jade, Anakin, and an open beach. I built the story on these elements without a script. Just myself at my kitchen bench, sketching my storyboards.
Most of the videos I have made are reliant on the moment. I film what I see and cut together what I can from the event. But working with a storyboard made this run so much smoother.
The filming took approximately 2 hours, and I am very glad I had planned each shot.

Lady Fortune looked favourably on this project because not only was this public beach nearly deserted, but Georgia (Mara Jade) had a VFX friend. He quickly jumped aboard and went above and beyond what I asked of him.
The biggest variable I find in any production is the music. I might have one plan before I begin, but the mood and melody the song brings can change projects. For example, this project originally had no voice over. But it brought out another element to the story, and I am so happy with the layers we have developed.
So please, enjoy this fun project we made!
